Parkway

On my way back to my apartment after playing racquetball this morning, I came upon this scene. I didn't have my camera with me or I would have a better picture, but this was what I snapped with my phone. I definitely need to bring my camera along next time I ride.

Biking to work

As I was reading last night, I realized that I have a great bike just sitting there, and this is the absolute ideal season for biking, since the temperature is still definitely warm enough for shorts but not so hot that I can't see due to the sweat rolling down my face. So I biked to work from my apartment in Murray. Unexpectedly, the Jordan River Parkway was closed at 7000 South, so I had to make a slightly questionable exit from the trail and get up out of the river bottoms to get to work. All in all though, it was definitely worth it, and something I'll definitely do again. Also, an hour and a half is cheaper by far than the gallon-and-a-half it takes me to get to work in my car. We'll see how it shapes up as winter sets on us, but I'm feeling pretty good about this. Yeah, pretty good.

sure has

been a long time. Really, there's no excuse for me not blogging. I mostly just never think about it. I probably wouldn't have this morning, either, except that I embarked on an epic journey by reading Cheeth's blog from the beginning. It's an inspiring experience.

Shortly after my last post, I bought a Saab. I then proceeded to replace the clutch, replace the clutch again, put a hole in the oil pan, get that fixed, replace the fuel pump, replace the fuel pump again, get sick of the car, and sell it. Now, I'm driving a Nissan Xterra, which is lots of fun. I just went out the other day after getting some new tires, and was very pleased at how it performed.

I'm still working at Rescue Alert, and I've really enjoyed that. Saying "Ethel, do you need help?" so many times has started to get a little grating though.

I'm gearing up to start school again this coming semester, which I've really missed. It's going to be nice to get going again on it.

I also moved into an apartment in Murray with a good friend of mine, which has been really great. He has a cat named Trigger, who is friendly but very afraid of me when I'm standing up. When I'm sitting down, he's fine, but as soon as I've achieved my full 5'6", he runs as fast as he can to my friend's room and hides under the bed. Oh well. Also, my apartment has some of the best carpet I've ever seen. It's like the plaid on the Scotch tape label. Wonderful.

I'll look into posting some pictures of the apartment and car soon.
