As I logged on today, checking various blogs, I noticed a rather surprising phenomenon. Many blogs now have comments posted to them which appear to be advertisements, a form of blog-spam. It may not be hard to get rid of them, but I don't want ads from some businessman too lazy to do real advertising. The thought of someone using my blog space without my consent in any form is really quite sickening. So, whether these are posted by a live person or just a program, No Thank You Very Much!

And That's the Rest of the Trip...

Washington D.C. is an amazing place to tour around. I spent quite a bit of time in the National Gallery of Art, but I also visited all of the major monuments. The Roosevelt Monument is probably my favorite, because it really reflects his presidency. After Washington D.C., we went to the Jamboree itself, which was held at Fort A.P. Hill. That was a lot of fun. Our whole council arrived on Sunday, which was a day earlier than most of the people arrived. So, by Monday, we had the activities (intended for 40-70,000 people) all to ourselves. That was fun, but after that it got busy. To clear up the story for those who haven't heard it, 4 scoutmasters died on the Jamboree. Two were putting up a tent when a pole touched an electrical wire, killing them instantly. The other two rushed in to help, and were also killed. This was a very sobering experience, and there were several memorial services throughout the camp. After the Jamboree, we went to Busch Gardens, which is a theme park in Virginia. That was a ton of fun. After Busch Gardens, we slept 1 more night back east, and then came home. So that was the Jamboree.
